St. Joseph's House gets a new roof!
God bless you all as we near the end of Lent 2010! Because of your generous financial support, St. Joseph’s House is currently able to have new roofs installed on the school, the residence, and our one-room log cabin which is the location of this year’s kindergarten. This is a great blessing for us since all three roofs were leaking and in desperate need of being replaced. Our work is challenging enough without water dripping from the ceiling onto our heads! Once again, thank you

A little head peeks above couch cushions, tufts of dark hair curling from his head as his eyes glitter and he giggles in that infectious way of babies. Suddenly it's back, this time atop a short body, peering around the corner of the couch.

"I have visited St. Joseph’s House and followed all their progress. I think this is a remarkable accomplishment and brings faith to many students, as well as a loving home to a number of children who would be without a place in this world. I am much impressed about the apostolate of the Kurtz’s Family and their dedication."

"One of the most amazing families you will ever encounter."
"The scientific "advancements" in contraception, chemical abortion, and in vitro fertilization have conditioned modern society to view children as commodities - possessions to be acquired and discarded at a whim. John and Donna Kurtz are a couple who accepted their infertility not as a misfortune, but as an opportunity to do something great for God and his most precious gift of life. Rather than pursue immoral medical alternatives, they instead opened their home to broken-hearted children, and through them God has created one of the most amazing families you will ever encounter." excerpt from an article in Celebrate Life magazine, Jan-Feb 2003
